1st Joint Meeting ICVS/Thomas Jefferson University

The ECS/Uminho was the host of the 1st Joint Meeting between the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute and the Thomas Jefferson University (Farber Institute for Neurosciences).
The meeting centered in Research on the Neurosciences domain and opportunities for joint ventures between the two institutions. Thomas Jefferson University was represented by Professors Irwin Levitan, Manuel Covarrubias, Matthew Dalva, Angelo Lepore and Jeannie Chin.
Next Joint Meeting will be held at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Memorandum of Agreement
The School of Health Sciences – University of Minho and the Thomas Jefferson University signed a memorandum of agreement that aims at promoting exchange programmes between the two institutions starting in 2015.

The ECS/UM hosted the 1st Research in Medical Education Conference in Portugal, organized by the Portuguese Research Network in Medical Education.
79 participants joined the RIME to discuss ongoing research projects across Portugal. The main themes were student development, communication and the physician/patient relationship and innovations and challenges in health sciences education.
Guest speakers were Professors Peter McCrorie (St. George's Medical School, University of London), Luiz Troncon (Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo) and Jordi Palés (Faculty of Medicine, University of Barcelona).
Next RIME will take place in Faculty of Health Sciences - UBI.
